Kinds of sport spread since the ancient centuries

Ancient human was developing passing through the natural evolution process. Undoubtedly, physical strength, quickness, reaction ability, health was of great importance in such a process. Only the people possessing these features were able to pass through the natural selection colander. Human was fighting against the animals to live, was able to escape the danger due to his quick running, as well as physical strength.

Such a feature had created necessity of taking care of the physical perfection at human by himself. As time was passing by, the people had to test their physical and mental features among themselves. The people who managed to pass through some testing could possess the right to lead the family and tribe. So, demand for testing physical features among the people had appeared as well. While society was developing, form and methods of this testing, fight were changing, various kinds were appearing. The greatest achievements of the humanity culture had been the forms of fight on the basis of creation of the sport. The sport lived through big evolution process as a system of conduction of the competitions over various movement complexes and training. Tests over some physical movements and work habits implemented by the people, fighting and struggling kinds, for example wrestling, running, jumping, weight-lifting, swimming, rowing, shooting an arrow, fencing, javelin throwing etc. can be perceived as the first kinds of sport. There is no doubt that such kinds of sport existed in all nations. It is impossible to state exactly where and when the first sport competitions over some kinds of sport were held. It is possible to say on the basis of the archeological digs that the first competition of the athletes was wrestling. The most ancient information on it covered the period related to XXVII-XXVI centuries B.C.

In the epos "Gilgamish" dated for VIII century B.C. the information on the wrestling competition based in the Shumer monuments related to the third millennium. Wrestling in Azerbaijan had been one of the most ancient and traditional kinds of sport widespread in Azerbaijan. In the eposes and tales of Azeri nation, in the written monuments there is a lot of information on the wresting competitions. In the eposes of ancient written monument of our history "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" there is wide information not only wrestling competitions but also face-to-face wrestling kinds. The fact that those fights were of competition character is clearly stated. In the tales and eposes the brave were trying their strength with lions, bulls, camels, were fighting waist-band against each other. The time was passing by and the wrestling had been developing, the attitude, rules of playing had changed, such meetings were held in special places. Such kind of sport as wrestling competition owing ancient history were held in special places - force houses.

The brave of Oguz land, as well as the girls were very famous in riding horse, fencing, shooting an arrow. In that country the boys weren't given name until they were showing themselves in the fights, face-to-face struggles, showed their braveness. One of the key characters of "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" epos Bamsi Beyrak and Banichichak loved each other only after the tried each other in riding horse, shooting an arrow and wrestling.

The names of such kinds of sport named in epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" can be also met in other sources. In the poems of Azeri poet of XI century Khagani Shirvani such kinds of sport as chovkan, riding horse, chess, fencing etc. can be found as well.

The majority of ancient Turkic-language nations spent the major part of their lives on the horses. The Oguz were going to the hunting on the horse's seat, were collecting food-stuffs for themselves, were selling it, were going to the marches.

They were born in horse's seat, fight, eat and drink, died. This nation was making a history in the horse's seat, establishing a culture, entertains, conducted various competitions. The historians were writing a lot about conduction of number of the competitions using horse's seats. Horse-races, horse-ride wrestling, fencing, chovgan and other kinds of sport competitions were widespread among Turkic-language nations. The sources show that the Chinese saw and took from the Turks and Mongols horse-races, which they love so much.
