" In 1997 European Youth Olympic Days were held Lisbon, Portugal. In Lisbon Games 2500 participants from 47 countries were registered. Athletes held fight for 85 medals in 10 sport disciplines (athletes, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, rowing, swimming, basketball, football, volleyball).

In the Olympic Days held in Portugal only young football team participated from Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, our young football players could not show top results.

Three Winter European Youth Olympic Days were held in Aosta, Italy in 1993, in Andorra in 1995 and in Sandsvill, Sweden in 1997. Winter Olympic Days of the year 1999 were held in Popard-Tatra, Slovakia.
