NOC OBJECTS AND TASKS

National Olympic Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzNOC) was established on the basis of Olympic Charter, acts of institutions and public unions of the Azerbaijan Republic; registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Republic and it is a non-governmental organization with the status of the juridical person, which Regulations was accepted by the International Olympic Committee.

Objects and tasks of Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee:

  • Mission of AzNOC is to guide Olympic movement in Azerbaijan. The main goal of AzNOC is to develop and protect Olympic movement in its country in accordance with the rules of Olympic Charter. The main duties of AzNOC are as follows:

  • Widely distribute ideas and principles of Olympia illustrated in Olympic Charter by all means, work for the strengthening of the Olympic movement union, strengthen Azerbaijan's position in this union, improve authority of the Republican Olympic movement and sport in the international world;

  • Send its representative board and manage this board at the Olympic Games, continent and complex international sportive competitions conducted under the guidance of International Olympic Committee; while selection of the sportsmen to be included in the representative board, not only sportive achievements but also abilities to be sample for their countries' youth, presentations about them in he corresponding national federations, as well as principles of the Olympic Charter should be taken into consideration.

  • solve the travel, accommodation and other supply issue of the sportive board of its country; insure the reps of the board members from the accidents (death, cripple, decease, medical and drug expenses) and conclude agreement with the third party regarding it; be responsible for the behavior of the board member reps;

  • achieve training and introduction of the physical training programs in secondary schools, as well as higher institutions with the use of sport following the main principles due to the level increase of the national Olympia, establish Olympic educational institutions;

  • provide establishment of Olympic Academies, Olympic Museums and assist in their activity, conduct cultural events in connection with the Olympic movement;

  • provide following the rules of Olympic Charter in the country;

  • draw and encourage high sportive achievements, as well as mass sport development;

  • assist in training of the sportive staff by organization of the special courses in assistance to propaganda of the main principles of Olympia;

  • fight against propaganda of any form of discrimination and violence, including racial, religious, political, sexual and other forms of discrimination, as well as use of the preparations and procedures forbidden by the IOC or IAF;

  • fight against all appearances of breaking of the rules of Olympic charter and independence protection, including political, religious or economic pressure, have harmonious relations with the corresponding state bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations with the condition of causing no damage to the interests of IOC;

  • attract the population of the republic to the physical culture and sport, mass sportive, national games, propagandize sound way of life;

  • join the movement "Sports for everybody, assist in conduction of the mass physical culture and sport events for the invalids and mentally ill persons;

  • make effort to educate the sportsmen among the population following the principles of friendship, work for the improvement of the role of sport and Olympic movement in the matter of the peace protection;

  • Establish close relations with IOC and its structural units, other international organizations of the Olympic movement, cooperate with NOCs of other countries in the sphere of Olympia, sports, education and culture;

  • protect the rights of the sportsmen, trainers, sport referees, veterans of physical culture and sport, conduct charity events, participate in the ecology protection movement;

  • participate actively in international events connected with the Olympic movement, scientific-practical seminars and conferences according to the Olympic thematic, Olympic balls and other cultural programs, as well as conduct such events;

  • establish condition for passing of the sportsmen through the medical check-up at the highest level.
