On 24-29 November 1998 IV Worldwide Olympic Fair was held in the city of Rio-De-Janeiro. In the event dedicated to the attraction of additional investments in the development of sport president of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, minister of youth and sport Abulfaz Garayev were taking part. In the event in the course of participation Ilham Aliyev held meetings with the vice-president of the International Olympic Committee Anita De France, heads of the committee departments Manfred Bergimann and Alex Chuat. During their conversation the issues of provision of the participation of our country in the Olympic information system union through the Internet, inclusion of our republic into all editions of the IOC etc. were discussed.

Heads of this committee and members of the Executive Committee were actively participating in the measures conducted by the International and European Olympic Committees in 1999.

It is well-known that the main spectrum of the technical and organizational works concerned with the Olympic Games was discussed by the corresponding commissions of the EOC on our continent.

In February 1999 Chingiz Huseynzade was participating in the session of "Preparation to the Olympic Games" commission in San-Marino, Agajan Abiyev in Stockholm session of "Technical cooperation" commission. Both in San-Marino and Stockholm session of the commission large spectrum of the organizational and technical works connected with Sydney Games was discussed, views on the issues of establishment the ties with NOC in this field were exchanged.

In June 1999 in the meeting held by the commission member of which he was took place in Amsterdam. This time commission prepared the regulations connected with the organizational works of Sydney Games. It was decided to submit the regulations prepared by the commission in the joint meeting of EOC and NOCA.

It should be noted that in 1999 number of very important steps from the international relations standpoint was made during the visit to Lozanna city considered Olympic center. With the personal invitation of the president of the IOC Chuan Antonio Samaranch president of the National Olympic Committee and minister of youth and sport Abulfaz Garayev paid an official visit to Switzerland. During the meeting with Mr. Samaranch Ilham Aliyev informed him on the works that had been carried out in the last two years, gave the official report on it. He had detailed conversation with IOC president on the development of material and technical base of Azeri sport, development of the Olympic Movement in our country.

Listening carefully the information on construction of new Olympic Committees in Baku and other cities and regions of the republic Chuan Antonio Samaranch highly esteemed the activity of the NOC in Azerbaijan. Undoubtedly, during the meeting the difficulties and problems were discussed as well.

Being in Lozanna, number of other business meetings was held as well. There were meeting with director of the Olympic union and department of the relations with the NOC Pere Miro, president of International Rowing Federation John Oswald, International Swimming Federation president Karnelus Makulesku, secretary general of UEFA Herhard Aygner.

During the meting with FIFA president Mr. Blatter in Zurich the condition of Azeri football was discussed.
