As it is known, National Olympic Committee is a member of European Just Games Movement. Our representatives have been participating in almost all of the meetings of the organization in the last few years. In the fifth General Assembly of the Just Olympic Movement held in June 1999 in Paris vice-president of Azeri committee and chairman of Just Games commission Khazar Isayev was representing Azerbaijan.

Cooperation between International Olympic Committee and U.N.O. and its specialized structures, programs and commission has improved considerable in the last few years. Member of the executive committee, chairman of the cultural commission of the committee Zarifa Salahova was participating in the international conference titled "Culture of education, sport and peace" organized jointly by IOC and UNESCO in July 1999 in Paris.

The next Assembly of the EOC gathered on 10-14 November 1999 in the capital of Czech. During the session members of the assembly were participating in the holiday events concerned with the 100th anniversary of Czech Olympic Movement.

Celebrating on 100th anniversary of Czech Olympic Movement reasoned in arrival of number of the official and honorable guests along with the representatives of 48 countries being EOC members in Prague.

In 28th session of the EOC and jubilee celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Czech Olympic Movement Azeri NOC was represented by vice-president Chingiz Huseynzade and secretary general of the NOC Agajan Abiyev.

In 28th General Assembly of the EOC over 30 issues were discussed. The discussed issues related to the activity of the EOC in 1999, issues of preparation to the coming Olympic games, the works carried out by the EOC commissions and structures as well as ties and joint events of EOC with IOC, NOCA and other organizations.

In April 2000 the seminar for the chiefs de missions and secretary generals of the EOC was held in Malta. In the seminar the committee was represented by vice-president Chingiz Huseynzade and member of the Executive Committee Asif Asgarov. In the seminar the issues of condition of preparation to Sydney Olympic Games, order of issuing the invitations to these games were discussed.

It should be noted that there were number of meetings of European Olympic Committee commissions in 2000. In the sessions wide discussions connected with the events realized by Olympic Movement, Olympic Games, European Olympic Committee, exchange of views was conducted, the commissions prepared various projects, recommendations.

NOC Secretary General Agajan Abiyev was participating in the meeting organized by the EOC Technical Cooperation Commission held in Paris. The commission exchanged the views on the technical issues of the sportive competitions and number of problems concerned with the fight against the dope.

In February 2000 member of NOC Executive Committee Vagif Aliyev was participating in the session held in Saudi Arabia of the Islamic Union Sportive Federation. It should be noted that this is a newly established organization. Its main goal is to render assistance to the development of sport.
